CBD oil for Sleep!
I love my CBD oil and I use it every night before I go to bed. I sleep like a baby, and rarely wake up unless I have to use the restroom. I also am in such a deep sleep, my dreams are so vivid and I talk in my sleep. I am pretty sure this stuff is increasing key neurotransmitters in my brain like dopamine and serotonin.
It is all starting to make sense to me. A few years ago, I used to wake up every night in the middle of the night for many years when I had hypoglycemia. I actually was dealing with night eating syndrome and would wake up starving and eat in the middle of the night! And most of the time I was ravenous for sugar. Nocturnal hypoglycemia tends to happen when blood glucose levels are too low for the body to function properly. Then there is a drop in the blood glucose level, it causes the release of hormones that regulate glucose levels. These compounds stimulate the brain and are a natural signal that it is time to eat. This phenomenon can cause a disruption in sleep and affect overall sleep quality. This occurred during a time where I had heightened stress and was unable to control my stress. It has been reported that hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis hyperactivity plays a role in the pathogenesis of insomnia. In addition, some studies have shown that sleep fragmentation or restriction leads to insulin resistance, which was slowly creeping up on me.
What helped me get this under control has been CBD, which has the ability to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality (Berus, 2017). CBD can also pull up your own endogenous cannabinoid production and molecularly, it can modify gene transcription and stabilize neuroinflammation. For example, it can stabilize over-active glutamate receptors and stabilize activated microglia cells in the brain. In smaller doses, CBD can help stimulate daytime alertness and reduce daytime sleepiness, which helped support my sleep-wake cycle.
The brand I love now is Poofy….it is affordable and powerful. 4-7 drops is all I need to continue to calm by brain and keep my body functioning.
